Our hospital staff holds talented, well-trained specialists: cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, diabetologists, radiologists, vascular and endovascular surgeons, pulmonologists, transplant surgeons, physical therapists, caring nurses, and other fantastic medical staff, for which a patient is always the priority. It is a team of professionals and experts, who regularly improve their skills and advance knowledge and gain more experience by participating in numerous national and international training programs.

 

2. Modern facilities

Our Centre is regularly developing its facilities, and, since the opening of our new hospital buildings: B, in 2011, and C, in 2015, our patients stay in very modern departments, comparable to the best European and world hospitals. During the hospital treatment, our patients stay in comfortable double rooms and are welcome to use spacious social rooms furnished with TV and WI-FI.

 

3. Modern medical equipment

We work on the most technologically advanced medical equipment, necessary for the safest and the most effective diagnostics and treatment of the whole scope of heart, lung and vessels diseases in adults and infants.  Silesian Centre was the first hospital in Poland to open the hybrid operating room where the cardiovascular surgeon, interventional cardiologist, and anesthesiologist can work together as a team. The hybrid room is a combination of a spacious, very modern OR with the comprehensively equipped with advanced medical imaging devices interventional room, which gives an opportunity to perform complicated and complex procedures using minimally invasive techniques. Another five ORs as well as seven vascular intervention rooms, designed according to the best world standards, including two rooms for electrophysiology and electrotherapy, are also fully equipped with state-of-art medical devices.

 

4. A modern combination of diagnostics and treatment process

Our centre has adopted patient and staff friendly a system of organization which puts our patients at the centre of our actions and make their stay at the hospital more pleasant and less traumatic. Throughout treatment, our patients are taken care of by a medical team composed of experienced specialists, nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and others involved in the overall therapy process.

What confirms the highest standards implemented in our organizational system is the Accreditation Certificate, granted to our hospital in 2014 and renewed in 2017. This certificate is proof that our medical and administrative staff operates according to the best international practices, and that the hospital itself provides the safest, professional quality of service to its patients. The accreditation standards concern a wide range of issues; apart from those directly connected with the treatment procedures they refer to the correct conduct of the supporting processes, which influences the safety and comfort of the patient.

 

6. Academic hospital

We are a leading, highly specialized hospital, strictly correlated with Medical University of Silesia (SUM) with regard to the professional training of the students of medicine, medical rescue, and nursing, as well as the postgraduate education for residents. We are proud to organize training courses fixed in an in-service training curriculum for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, internists, general and vascular surgeons, GPs, and medical rescuers, all with the use of the most advanced techniques and technology.

 

7. National and International cooperation

Sharing experience with other hospitals as well as outsourcing good practices from the best European and world medical centres is a fundamental element of development and in-service training of our medical team. Our systematic cooperation with international centres results in frequently organized conferences, workshops, seminars and scientific meetings within modern adult and infant cardiology, cardiac surgery, transplantology, and severe heart failure treatment. Such activity is crucial in the scientific development of every institution.

 

8. Transparency and trust between patients and treating personnel

The significant feature of our institution is a no corruption policy we conduct. Our medical personnel does not accept any form of financial or substantial gratification for their service. This policy is a unique asset in the eyes of our patients.

 

9. The respect to Patient Rights

We have developed a Code of Ethics - a written set of guidelines issued to our workers and management to help them conduct their actions in accordance with the primary values and ethical standards.

Our hospital's Board of Directors, the heads of the departments, the coordinators of the units and laboratories of SCCS, as well as the Patients Ombudsman representative are available for our patients and their families.
